Some providers use restrictive practices. The aim of these practices is to keep people safe but they can take away the rights of people with disability.

There are strict rules about how restrictive practices can be used.

The NDIS Commission made an Easy Read guide about restrictive practices.

The guide says that restrictive practices:

  • can only be used after trying other things
  • must be used for the shortest time possible.

Restrictive practices can only be used in ways that are safe for you.
