Learn how add-ons can help you listen to websites

For other internet browsers, you may need to download an “add-on” to hear website text read out loud.

An add-on is like an app for your internet browser. It gives your browser extra features. Add-ons are sometimes called extensions or plugins.

For example, if you use the browser Mozilla Firefox, you must download an add-on to use text to speech.

To choose a good add-on, look at the star rating, which is a score out of 5. People who have used the add-on can give it a rating, from 1 to 5 stars. The more stars the add-on has, the more people who have used it like it.

You should also check how many people have rated the add-on. If lots of people have rated it, and given it a high score out of 5, it might be helpful to use.
